Hookin it up to the switch

So I purchased a switch to hook up a certain accessory but it has 3 prongs. I also got a fuse tap from Radio Shack to tap power from the interior fuse box. How do I set this system up? Power wire to the fuse tap from the switch..... and then?

Ok the 3 prongs are like this 1 ground, one hot or + and the other is to go the + of what ever your useing the switch for.

yea the extra one is usually for a light that is on the switch

one for power, One for load and one for ground...
Load is for the light, power is power and ground is ground...

Basically what everyone else said ...


BTW, fuse tap? hmm how much is it? I need one
