Houston - San Anton - Need help

A very dear friend of mine died and I will be going to his funeral on this Wednesday. I will be driving from Las Vegas, NV to San Antonio, TX. I am looking for a place to sleep and take a shower. A couch to crash would be appreciated... or recommend a cheap place to sleep. I am short on money that is why I am driving and asking for a cheap place to stay. Any help would be appreciated.
