someone told me that it would be cheaper to build my own turbo than rather buy a kit from greddy or turbonetics, so the question to you is that what do i need to have a complete turbo kit , im new at turbo

not to hard of a task, just gotta order like 9 diff things and get your own hardware but nothing to drastic, i'm partial to the greddy kit because everything will all be in one box as for any kit to be honest, i don't like to search for stuff so i'll spend the extra cash, hell its only money ya can't take it w/ ya

lol wow, thats a lot. you can build a turbo for way cheaper than that

junkyard turbo=50
rebuild kit(if thats even necessary)=60 maybe
junkyard HF manifold=20-40
dsm injectors=30
intercooler=100
dsm BOV=20-30
all the piping you'd need prolly costs around 100
then sorry idk what a nice fuel management would be, i plan to use my VAFC to adjust the fuel maps n such.

am i missing anything?

I missed the UPS guy today, so my greddy kit gets here tomorrow, building my own kit was never an option for me. I wanted something that was high quality and in a nice package. Not to mention its warrentied, SMOG legal, and proven to be a good product. I paid $3300 for a new turbo kit, intercooler kit (31V), BOV, turbo timer, and fuel pump. It was one hell of a deal though.

for 2 grand you can do a whole lot. what motor do you have? if you are planning on swapping, you are pretty close to having the cash for that.......... then after you swap keep saving and boost that =)

it says emanage in the title, emanage is a piggy back unit from greddy to control the fuel maps for the turbo. With low PSI you dont really need a BOV but since you want the sound yes all you need is an intercooler and BOV. But then again an intercooler isnt a must.
