What's up, Board?
I haven't been here in awhile, so don't boo me off the board. I'm sure you will overlook the fact that I haven't been the most productive member of this site, and help me out. Look, I've installed some reverse glow gauges in my '94 civic DX sedan, but for the life of me, I can't figure out where to connect the wires from the inverter to the car. The instructions said something about hooking up the wires (one red, the other black) to the headlight power source. Where the heck is that? The gauges are in, and they are white during the day, but I want the reverse glow at night. If you can help, it would be appreciated. Thanks

Just hook them bitches up on a switched source on the fuse box so they come on when you turn your parking lights or headlights.

Its actually quite simple. when you have your gauge cluster out of the dash theres 3 main connecters that go into the back of the gauges, then another little one for srs. Get a test light, and just put it into the harness on the left, on each wire until you see it light up when you turn the lights on or off. then Get a scotch connecter and hook your main inverter power up to that. (splice connecter) Wont matter if you steal power from there because most people take the little bulbs out and all the power runs to is those and signals and such so no real change. Then just throw your ground to a common ground somewhere, easy enough spot that works is the bolts that mount the fuse box up. then just hide the inverter behind the metal cross beam with the controls (if you have a good inveter that has them) you can run down the left side until they pop out right beside your hood release. perfect spot, easy to access, hidden, and you can hear the inverter very well when the lights are on. If ya need more help just pm me, ive taken mine apart a ton of times. Oh and make sure you dont bend your ei gauge face when the wires come out, on mine I had to drill a hole in the side of the cluster so it came out straight cause I had some in there before but as then bent around the corner to come out where the harness plugs in it vibrated so much that it actually broke them. I had to send them back for warrenty cause of my ignorance. Luckily they hooked me up with new ones.

Ok, I hear you, but bear with me for a sec. Civic Jedi Master Devin EM1. The fuse box you speak so wisely of (the one with the fuse source) is this the fuse box that is located underneath the hood, on the passenger side, in front of the battery, or is there another fuse box?
Looks down, and bows, waiting patiently for an answer from the Civic Jedi Devin EM1.

theres a fuse box behind the drivers kick panel type thing, two screws i think is what holds it on, then your fuse box is right out in the open, there should be a little door at the bottom left of the panel to get at the fuses aswell. just get on the floor and look up under the drivers side. i think its easier to splice the power from the back of the gauge cluster though. will already have the right fuse hooked into it and everything, perf

dude, search the net, there's a few wires that plug into your cluster, find the ones that provide power to the cluster when you put on the parking lights, once you found that it'll probably be a red one with a stripe or without one and you'll see a black one. splice into those wires with the correct colors and your gauges should work.
