ok so im planning on building a d16z6 turbo motor. At the curent moment i have as set of vitara pistons. im am curious to how much boost i could use untill i got some better rods.
i plan on tuning with uberdata or crome. I really only wana boost about 10psi for now. i just wanted to make sure that the stock rods would hold up for that b/c in about a year i plan on rebuilding the whole block so i can boost about 25psi, but if i can find a set of good rods for 220 or somewhere in that range ill just go ahead and get those to and just do the pistons and rods at the same time.1999CivicEX said:if you are putting in pistons might as well save time and money by putting in rods too
www.tunertoys.com makes rods and they are good 600 plus hp. about 220 I think I had a pair and sold them because I am selling the car
edit:
I mean think about your asking whats the MAX I can run on stock rods. Does this mean your going to run the make maybe not. If you do your driving around with a bomb on wheels. When he says 10lbs He means a good as tune.
What are you tuning safc hack?
I have learned my lesson the hard way when I had a 91 AWD Turbo TSi. I spiked 25lbs on a t3 because I was a jackass. My rod blew a hole in the side of my block the size of my fist.
You will need a good tune man. NO half ass tune as you probably know. Just if you going to do pistons might as well be safe and do the rods tookilas4doorsleep said:i plan on tuning with uberdata or crome. get it boys?

Yes.kilas4doorsleep said:ok with that said. Would the correct question have been, what is the most hp that the stock rods can handle?
I also would like to say thank you for that lil bit of info.
