This is a question I know alot of first timers like myself ask when seriously thinking about turbo charging an engine, and I am sure there are about a MILLION diffrent threads asking this question, but lets just throw all the engines in one big pile and make it a one stop shop for people choosing a set up, shall we? So those guys with these engines and have already droped the cash to throw a kit in, help us newbies out. Ill try and make it slightly easier by grouping engines.

Engine name - Max PSI on stock internals

D blocks
------------------
D15 (Non-Vtec) - ? PSI
D15 (Vtec) - ? PSI
D15 (Vtec-E) - ?PSI

D16 (Non-Vtec) - ? PSI
D16 (Vtec) - ? PSI
D16 (Vtec-E) - ? PSI

D17 (Non-Vtec) - ? PSI
D17 (Vtec) - ? PSI
D17 (Vtec-E) - ? PSI

ZC (SOHC) - ? PSI
ZC (DOHC) - ? PSI

B blocks
------------
B16 (Vtec) - ? PSI

B17 (Vtec) - ? PSI

B18 (Non-Vtec) - ? PSI
B18 (Vtec) - ? PSI

B20 (CR-V motor) - 15 PSI (highest I have heard of it being done safely)

F blocks (accord)
-------------
F20 (SOHC) - ? PSI
F20 (Vtec, DOHC) - ? PSI

F22 (Non-Vtec, SOHC)- ? PSI
F22 (Vtec, SOHC) - ? PSI
F22 (Vtec, DOHC) - ? PSI

F23 (Non-Vtec) - ? PSI
F23 (Vtec) - ? PSI

F blocks (s2000 engine for you crazy people fitting this in to a civic)
-------------
F20 - ? PSI

F22 - ? PSI

H blocks
--------------

H22 - ? PSI

H23 - ? PSI

K blocks
--------------
K20 - ? PSI

K23 - ? PSI (yes I know this one is already turbo charged)

K24 - ? PSI

I think the J and C really dont need listing, and the s2000 list was just for shits and giggles. I will edit this and update it as Specs are added. So yeah, maybe this can help out a kid or two.

When i wanted turbo i came across some good info from a few CC guys.. never go by PSI becuz a bigger turbo can push more power at a lower PSI.. or something like that..

i wanted to turbo the LS so bad but new plans made me change my mind.

Kind of wrong... PSI is psi, you're talking air flow, the bigger the turbo the higher the air flow, but the engine also needs to beable to spool the turbo to make the power the turbo is capible of.

this thread is pretty worthless for 2 reasons.

1.) PSI is irrelevent, it isnt how much psi a stock block can handle its how much HP it can handle

2.) Different turbo sizes as well as different turbos will yield different results, which takes you back to #1

so you can either go back to post #1 and edit it to include a turbo and the size of it, or you can change how much psi can a stock block handle to how much HP a stock block can handle. otherwise it will hold false hope for people that dont know any better, like the 5 of you that posted and the 1 guy that talked about credit for some reason.
