How much will you / have you spent on your turbo set up?

First off, my apologies if there is a thread like this, but I SEARCHED and couldn't find anything

I'm just curious to know b/c a good friend of mine noticed I was having trouble setting a list of things I needed for my D-Series turbo set

So helped out and made me one. After providing the list, he calculated $3412.42 with tune included.

(He's willing to help me put it together :word: )

To some this may be high for a D16, but to others this may be reasonable

Just want to get all the Turbo'ed guys/girls opinions and what they spent as far as

1. Engine Management
2. Parts
3. Turbo
4. Tune
5. Etc...

P.S. Doesn't necessarily have to be a D-Series you turbo'ed. Could either be a B / H / K Series motor

How much are HP are you putting down?

Is it a DD or not?
im not boosted anymore. It was daily driven at 7 psi (internally gated) at about 176whp.

Mine was about $1.1k not including all the fancy s**t I didn't need. Also including the tune. If you add all the extra stuff it was about $1.7k.

i dont recall how much i spent on my entire setup (it was more or less "complete")

but ive parted it out for roughly $1500, i lost money on some things, and made profit on others..

ems- 400 ended up selling and got 500
p06 converted to vtec with obd1 step down-220
injectors - 220
cam gear - 50
downpipe-150
tune- 400

2590 total for my current dd setup. no clue on hp but ive beaten a base rsx, scion tc, 99 si WITH A CX tranny (130mph @ top of 3rd at 7k rpms)

so once i rebuild my old ex tranny, bigger turbo, bigger exhaust and re-tune maybe 4000 the most.

sooo $4000 for a DAILY DRIVEN 12 second civic. people have done 10s with this setup in egs. i think my car will be able to do 11's but im shooting for 12's

Ive only picked up the manifold, downpipe, and a boost gauge. Maybe $600.

sure the engine management looks like a lot, but i can use everything to tune other people's cars as well. so its not like it was entirely for my car

ive got $3500 in my turbo setup not including tune (all new parts: garrett t3/t4 57 trim, tial waste and bov, garrett intercooler and vibrant piping, vibrant exhaust, custom made ram horn mani and downpipe with flex, oil feed/return lines, exedy stage 2 clutch, apexi powerfc ecu with commander, 650cc injectors. another $2000 in a semi built ls/vtec

^^ you left out injectors and wastegate dump tube, unless your dumping into the downpipe. otherwise, it looks good!

which motor is this youre building?

something i would consider if your looking for 200whp+ is rebuilding the block with arp rod bolts and fresh bearings to make a really reliable and strong DD
