How much would you pay for a ball bearing turbo kit?

How much $ is it worth to you?

well given that a good top mount goes for ~800 bucks, and a gt28rs goes for ~1100, the kit is worth over 2200. that being said, there is NO point to a top mount for such a small turbo. small turbos like the very short runners of a log manni, to maximize spool time. top mounts are great for making huge power with large turbos's, with the ability to run a full 4" dp, and to have higher manifold pressures. there really isnt much benefit for a small gt28, except slightly higher top end power and longer spool time.

imo it would be around the 2100$ range, just because the turbo and the mani you want costs so much(assuming your buying all new)

great info. +1 =)

so, barring the topmount, and running a equal length tubular.. would you still agree with 2100+?

any equal length is gonna cost $$. the cost in material alone of a basic ramhorn is around 150-200 bucks. and thats just the steel, flanges, and welding wire, not the labor to pay someone to put it together well. the cheapest equal length i can find anywere is cc-fab, and there a rammy is 450+ shipping. most good ramhorns are nearly twice that, around 700-900. and the turbo is still over a grand, so yes, 2100 for that kit. the only way your gonna get under 2 grand is by using a cheap cast log manifold, a small fmic, and no fuel mangment, and a cheap bov/wg. the turbo is just too expensive by itself to make for a cheap kit. if you went with a standard t3/4 of some sort, you'd sacrifice a bit of spool but you'd knock an easy 500-600 off the price.

and an addenem to my other post, a good RAMHORN goes for ~800 bucks, finding a top mount for under 1000 is nearly impossible. most are in the 1200-1500 range.

good info... well.... i am in the process of obtaining a business license.. we already have the prices from manufacturers... already have began negotiations with a metal fab company.. if i secure the loan(s), CC will be able to get the above mentioned kit minus fuel management for under 2400.

-regards =)
