How To: GSR cluster in 88-89 cover

Thats right. IT FITS! DCRB (Off honda-tech) and I got his LS cluster to fit in my old hatch. its REALLY easy.

Just letting EVERYONE know that It WORKS! Here is the run down of what you need and how to do it

DC Cluster

Grinder

88-89 Cover



Step 1:
Do the wiring conversion (takes a few minutes to do)

Step 2:
Take the grinder and grind off the upper tabs, and then grind some of the plastic off of the top.

Step 3:
Install and enjoy!

All the props on this go to DCRB (Ryan) for discovering this and making it known that it is possible, BUt IMHO it looks WAY better than using a 90-91 cover

ok i removed my post cause i was grumpy and said a few mean things. So ill start over. civhatch92 I realize that you may not like the way it looks, but over a 90-91 cluster cover, I would take this any day. and with how much the dang 90-91 stick out and the 88-89 dont, I LOVE IT. But when we have time we are going to modify the 88-89 cover with some extra plastic to cover up the gaps.

i heard the wiring for a hatch is pretty simple...

how is the 88-89 cover different to the 90-91 cover?

i got a 90 hatch and i might be interested to do this in a near future...

the 88-89 is shorter, and doesnt come out far

90-91 is taller and comes out further. I HATE 90-91 cause they are sooooo huge!
