Ive seen a few DIY's but the pics are not showing. I want to keep my factory radio and just install the CD player where the existing pocket is above the cup holder. Thanks in advance. I want to do this while I'm off and replace all speakers

It's pretty simple but it depends on what you are using. Are you using an aftermarket or OEM cd player? Which stock radio do you have and which cupholder do you have.

It should be plug and play with that setup, the cord that comes out of the back of the cd player will plug right into the back of the radio. Are you trying to figure out how to take apart the console and actually put it in?

Yes. Just don't want to pull the whole dash out when I dont have to if you know what I mean. Only want to do what's needed

You'll have to take out pretty much the entire center console to do it. You need to take out the armrest section to get the piece around the shifter off. You need to get the piece around the shifter off to get to the cupholder. You don't need to take the cupholder out but you need to access it because the cd player will be held in by screws on the sides. It might seem like a lot but it's actually very easy, just look for the screws on the sides and pull it out.

To get to the back of the radio you can do it by pulling out the climate control or from underneath by removing the panel with the cigarette lighter outlet. I'm not sure which would be easier. There are screws behind the hazard and rear defroster switches if you want to remove the climate control. If you want to go underneath you'd have to pull back the piece under the steering column and I believe remove the glove box to get that center panel off. I don't remember every step exactly without looking at it but it's pretty self explanatory when you get in there. You'll have to pull a lot apart but it's all pretty easy.

Thanks. I got the cd player in the holder where the pocket was. Now I just need to get to the back of the radio to plug the cd player in.

Cool, post a picture when you are done. I always liked that setup actually.

Done thanks!! Very easy install. Luckily I had the screws in my tool box to mount the cd player to the bracket so no part store run.
