After 10,000 miles this light turned on and I need to turn it off. i know there are some codes and you can do it manually. If you can help me with this I will really appreciate it. Dealers charge like $400 to turn it off. Thanks

What year is your car? If your car is OBD2 take it to AutoZone, they'll do it for free. BTW, that light came on for a reason. Judging by that reason it might not be wise to delete the code without having your car serviced by an ASE certified mechanic first.

is it your maintenance required, or your check engine light? if its your maintenance required just stick your key in the slot next to the reminder and it will go back to green, if its your check engine light then take it to autozone or advanced auto and ask them to use the scanner

My car is 2004 and has only 11,000 miles, I don't think it needs that maintenance to be done at this time. i know that light pops up automatically after 10,000 miles. Thank you for your help :-)

I checked and there is no slot next to that reminder (by the way the message is "maint. required"). There is a little stick so you can reset the mileage but nothing else. Is there any other way to make that light dissapear? Thanks for your help. :-)

my bad, i didnt know what year your car was. on 6th gens (96-00) there is a slot you push your key into to turn the reminder back to green. but it looks like the solution is in your owners manual :thumbs up
