why would you seafoam your engine if it didnt need it? i dont see why having a turbo would increase carbon buildup

just reg. maint. love your car and it will love you. one thing ive noticed was every once and a while i will check under the hood to make sure all hoses, clamps, vacuum lines etc are still tight and functional.

Just about any engine can have carbon build up And depending how much he loves boost; while in the boosting range. Doesn't it tend to run richer? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't n/a run about 14.7:1 and turbo 11.5:1 a/f's?:?:

check all of your nuts and bolts on your manifold/turbo regularly. check your vacuum lines for holes and leaks.

always warm the car up. boost heats parts up quicker. if the pistons expand quicker than the sleeves...well that speaks for itself.

most the maintenance will be the same as the non turbo car. change your plugs when you change your oil.

getting a good tune of course is the most important part.

on my old one... it was regular oil changes and treat it to the nice high octane gas, and not that cheap oil either! I didn't beat on it too much thou but when I did I did it good!

everything you said makes sense but if he has everything tuned correctly etc he should have that much more carbon build/building up than an NA car
