humming from intake

i have hade my aem short ram intake for one year
know it homes very loud when my car idles
i have changed the filter but it is still humming
it's a 98 ex

and then you get that loud humming sound
that is not normal on a short ram intake

SRI intakes are REALLY loud...what you are hearing is probably normal..from what you are explaining it sounds fine...my brothers buddy has a 2002 civic and he has SRI and it is louder than s**t..way louder than my CAI on my 2000...so I think you are fine...from how you are explaining it doesnt sound bad

also, when the weather warms up the cai's and sri's get louder because of the warmer air sucking into it. I think it sounds nice. I can't hear my CAI anymore because my muffler is to loud.

do civics have a air control valve?maybe it is bad

no they dont they have a pcv valve. but that wont make any loud noises.

i did change my pcv valve not to long a go

just about every car has a PCV system, including hondas

all of my intakes have always done this, including my CAI. its a normal occurance and you shouldnt be worried about it. i just dont know why it wasnt doin it before and all of a sudden it is doin it

Has it ever made that sound before? Like maybe after it has warmed up a lot? Maybe try pulling it apart and see if any parts are loose or have moved on you, I know there are not many moving parts though. If it had a small hole in it, maybe where you can't see it, it would probably end up whistling on you.
