Hello all, New here..
I have a 06 Civic Hybrid. I want to add some better speakers and subwoofer along with amps. A few places I have talked to said that the Hybrid does not put out enough power to run this stuff due to the small altenator. Any truth to this ??

Much Appreciated
Robert

Never heard that before.

Seems like it would have even greater charging capacity to keep the capacitors up.

If nothing else you should be able to at least run an Infinity BassLink

it has a smaller alternator becuase all the capacitor charging happens under braking from the electric motor.

I'd just watch how much power the equipment you're looking at draws... you're not going to want to run a huge amp or anything like that, but something smaller will still work.

=)

I could run my headlamps, heater blower, electric fuel pump, Blaupunkt deck, Blaupunkt 6 cd changer, 2 6.5s and two surface mount Pioneer TS-Xes in my Triumph with a 25 amp Lucas alternator. I think the Hybrid will be fine with an addition like the Basslink.

doesn't it defy the purpose of buying a hybrid? adding the extra weight to reduce the mpg?
Reason why I say this is because when I had 2 subs on my ej8, i was at around 25mpg, when the subs were off I got up to 27 mpg (its automatic thats why the #'s are that low)

check this out...

uhhh... how much audio shyt did you have in your car homeslice? In the link you posted, they added 200lbs and got a difference of ~.5 gallon.......? At that rate you had 800 pound of audio equipment? Im sure it was your driving..... lol

They make Wire harnesses. you clip one end into stock plug. and the other end match up the colors to the radio wires....
