Just like the title says, happened about 3 weeks ago on a saturday. For those who have know the history of my car I had just recently tooken it to the dyno for testing. My B16 was almost done with the n/a setup. I was on the freeway shifting from 3rd to 4th @around 7krpm and when i release the throttle pedal the floor mat caught the throttle pedal and rev'd my motor like all the way max for 3 seconds. Having no rev limiter the motor blew. I came down to my valve train. Couldn't handle the high revs a valve drop into the piston chamber and that was that. It was still stock I was about to buy the cams and valvetrain to complete my n/a setup. I looked at my rearview mirror and I all say was smoke. Anyways since then I've purchase a new motor a jdm B18c. The motor is currently in the process of being rebuilt. This new motor will be strong and better than the b16. These are just the prelim pics. Motor is ready for machine shop.

yes I am. The b18c will be built pretty much the same setup but I am going to do a little extra.

B/C it warps them. Just like you don't lie piston and rods down. You stand them up. And the same reason you don't lie a pool stick on the ground, you stand it straight up and down.

Vtec Cranks are balanced from the factory, to turn higher rpms than a non-vtec motor. Reving 8200 or 10000 is a big deal, esp. if it is a little warped.

DING DING DING YOU ARE CORRECT!. Yes this also apply for cams, these parts are cast iron & can warp under its own wieght.

No it doesnt matter which side to set it up on

that sucks.. next ecu put a rev limiter.. its there for a good reason. 1.8 is a good upgrade. since ur going for the same setup u will no problem breaking 200whp with a 1.8.
