In reference to detailing cars with washing, waxing, etc, my brother once said, "you have to own the car, not let the car own you". I'm sad to say that today I got owned.

It took 4-5 hours, but I washed, dried, clay barred, polished and waxed the entire car. Its by no means perfect, but the paint feels smooth as glass (I credit the clay bar). What do you guys think?

oh yeah, the windows do need cleaning (i was kinda in a rush, it was getting dark). Sorry about the photos...I don't know how to play with the camera settings and though I took about 30 photos, these are the only ones that came out looking normal (others were all shaky and stuff).

i woulda gotten daytime photos...but i woke up today only to find that the damn sprinkler system hit my car...i guess you should never own a black car if you don't have a regular garage...

i'd love to meet up, considering i don't really know what my car's supposed to run like.

oops, sorry I didn't realize it was just "tech" section. In any case, thanks for the compliments and even though it got dirty within 12 hours of the job, I'm happy I have something to show for it (the pictures). I didn't have any new or awesome products, so I used what I had in hand (excluding the clay bar):

Armor All car wash concentrate
Clay Magic clay bar and lubricant
Meguiar's Deep Crystal polish
DuPont Teflon car wax

looks good, you forgot one step tho, glazing. it comes after polishing / before waxing it restores necessary oils back into your paint, making it look deeper.

heres the products i recommend using.

any car wash (megs gold class isnt bad)
mothers or claymagic claybar
megs professional hand polish
megs mirror glaze
megs hi tech yellow wax.
