New Guy in the forums..

Have a 2006 Civic LX 1.8 ..had to disconnect the battery and when I re-connected the radio asked for a code. Help me out here. And how do you enter the code when I figure what it is?

this happened to my cousin
go to the dealer where you bought the car and
ask them to give you the code

on 6th gens its on a sticker inside the trunk, right on the hinge.

might not be so with 7th gens

when you figure it out, you punch it in via the radio preset numbers, and your radio will turn back on

sometimes its hidden in the glove box, under fuse box, in trunk etc. or sometimes its not lol. can call the dealer and give the serial # on the back of the deck to get the code. or on some 7thgen radios, hold down the 1 and 6 number preset buttons and the serial # will come on the screen.

If your battery dies in your car and your Radio no longer works because it prompts for a security code "and you dont have the code", write down your Vin #, open your glove box and write down the number, call Honda of America and choose option #5, give them your info and your name/number and within 5 mins they will give you the security code. Much easier then tearing out your radio for the SN of the radio and much cheaper then bringing it to a dealer and having them charge you $100 to get the code for you!
