I phoned my local Honda dealership today just to find out about a part i need and thought id see if they could order me in any CTR EK9 parts. No harm in asking:D

He went away and said he could order anything, as long as i had the VIN number.

So what i need is an original EK9 Vin Number for a 98-99 car. (The early one)

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

To begin with just simple things like badges, gear knob. Things like that. But when i finish uni in a few months looking for other bits like red interior, gauge cluster.

Theres no real market for JDM parts here in the UK so they're hard to come by.

Uh, youre not going to get alot of people to hand out a VIN number. You can get a spare key to our car cut with that s**t.

Never used ebay before to be honest. I'll give it a look. Cheers carlip.

I'm sure those certain H's are easy to get off with your hands. Just got to find a certain car with a couple of those H's on!!! :twisted:

well.. the VIN for an EK9 will most probably start like so:

JHMEK93

j = japan
h = honda
m = passenger vehicle made in japan
ek9 = chassis code
3 = 3dr hatch, manual

after that comes the grade. i have a feeling it might be 9, but i'm not sure what grade the TypeR is.

next digit is the check digit, so it can be anything.

next one up is the model year: T = 1996, V = 1997, W = 1998, X = 1999, Y = 2000

after that it's the assembly plant. the japanese plants are as follows: S = suzuka, T = tochigi, C = sayama

the last 6 digits are the production sequence numbers.

hope this helps
