i need a new motor..

I guess you could find a dohc ZC for that much.

If you have hookups and have all the parts for a swap then go ls. My local shop charges $800 if you have ALL the parts needed for a swap. Good luck.

1k ain't gonna cut it for a 96 especially if you have an auto... save up and get a b16... an sirII should run you a little under 3000

Shop on ebay. Sometimes you can come across a good deal on parts.
