i want to do a custom set up with a nice sized turbo with very little turbo lag, running about 15 psi daily, and a very good fmic. My question is about how much would all of this run me and where could i get the stuff. I only want the best for my civic so price isn't a problem because i'll get the money. And what comp ratio do you recommend 8.5:1 or 9.0:1 on my 2001 HX with the D17A6? Thanks CC members for your HELP

the lower the compression the better if u wanna boost more and not have to worry about detonation.
according to SEANmc300 u can get a whole kit for 1K(minus a rebuilt for boosting) and all the parts are off other cars or are used though..if your thinking of buying brand new + rebuild, im thinking in the area of at least 8K+.

for what motor...? 15psi is almost to the point you want to iron your sleeves....anyways, for a decent kit you are looking around $2000 to $4000. I recomend revhard

hmmmm good size and minimal lag....id go with a t3/t04e 50 series with a .48ish. good starter kits at www.cheapturbos.com then from there id get some darton sleeves, je pistons of stock compression, crower rods, port and polish, jcwhitney exhaust tubing for charge pipes, greddy bov, custom downpipe, lovefab.com equal length manifold, thermal tubo cat back exhaust, dsm 440cc injectors, hondata...done
