I need some music

Its almost been 2 years since i got my 96 ex and I still have to stock radio with no cd player or anything. I was thinking about getting an mp3/cd player since i cannot take this bullshit music they play on the radio.

So can anyone recommend me a decent headunit, doesn't need to be anything fancy. Im trying to keep this as cheap as possible.

How do I go about installing it, and are there any other items that I need to buy to install in a 6th gen?

youll need a new harness that will plug into the factory one and depending if your putting it in the dash or the cup holder youll need a mounting kit. and if you have keyless youll need to relocate the factory heatunit to keep the keyless and domelight

I recommand crutchfield.com for all ur cd/mp3 needs.. u spend 130 or more, u get ur HU w/warranty, installation kit if avail for u car (some car don't need it), harness, and cheat sheet telling u exactly what to do..where to start, what to remove..i bought HU from them b4 and it's awesome..3days shipping too..

Should be able to do what I did, make my factory head unit think my ipod is a cd changer.
It's called a HON AUX cost about $50 and takes about an hour to install.

Thanks for the website I am checking it out, seems kind of expensive though(yeah I am being a huge cheapass on stereo s**t)

regardless of where you put it, your going to need a harness. if your putting it where the factory headunit is then you'll also need the mounting kit. if you put it up top then you will have to relocate it somewhere. most people put it behind the dash. if you put the new deck down below then you dont have to move anything.
i put mine below and left the factory headunit above and just use it as a clock.

So I got myself a Clarion headunit today from frys. I didn't buy anything else, the wiring harness was 20 dollars.,

Anyone know where else to buy one(not online) for cheaper? Or is that the usual price.

So let me get this straight. What I have to do I get a wire harness and solder it to the headunit and just plug it in the stock harness?

you will need the harness, that is a must. if you don't know anything about stereos you will be so screwed without it. so bite the bullet and get it, you will need two of them to move your factory one. and IMO I wouldn't leave the factory where it is, looks bad and with your unit on the bottom you really wont be able to use the cup holders. I'm constantly adjusting the volume and crap like that. And yes I have a remote for mine but will never use it.

just buy the stuff man. there's no way around it. car stereo's aren't cheap. and if u do cheap out, ur gonna get really poor quality. just my word of advice. i'm not saying u need a $1800 stereo system. (although it's much easier to get one when u work at best buy ) but don't completely cheap out.

check wal mart or meijers if you have where you live. $8 for harness if they have them. which is rare, but sometimes you get lucky. i think $12 bucks for the installation kits. if not try ebay
