Hey - My name is Mike and I'm from in between the mountains in Southwest Virginia US. For years I have been into rebuilding, customizing, and riding Honda motorcycles (primarily Vintage). Being that I am 31 and right in the middle of what is probably the busiest part of my life with a FT job as an IT Specialist and Programmer, FT student (almost done though), three kids, a wife and all the fun things that come along with that I have not had much time for the bikes anymore. Actually, they are just not practical any longer since I have 3 kids fighting over who rides, etc. etc.

Anyway, I work about 40 minutes away from home and was pretty much driving the family van (gotta have one with 3 kids you know, but it is pretty sweet - not some yuppie soccer mom deal) for the past year and not only was I running the miles up quick, I was spending loads on gas money.

I decided a month or so ago that I wanted to get a smaller car - 4 cylinder, 5-speed (had to be as I miss my last one from about 10 years ago), something that was mid-90s as I didn't want a car payment and wanted to tool around with it and tune it when I get the money - afterall I need a new hobby! I immediately started looking for a Honda (or Acura) from around that time frame as I have always had a strong opinion that Honda's are probably by far the most reliable and best all-around cars ever made to be honest.

Well, I found a heck of a deal last Friday and am already hooked to say the least. I was able to snag a 93 Honda Civic DX for only $1500 from repo man about an hour away. I will post pics soon. As far as the miles, that is pretty much unknown. I am pretty sure that the cluster is not for this vehicle originally because to be honest it looks much older than the rest of the interior. It says 200k - BUT this thing does NOT run like it has 200k on it, even for a Honda. It runs so much better. To be honest, I plan on an engine swap, so I am not worried about it. It is definitely a project car as there are a bunch of little things, but heck I can deal with that.

Thanks. Actually, I wasn't completely in the dark. Like I said, I have owned a 36 year old Honda bike for several years now and I love that thing - however, I do plan on letting it go and using the money to fix up my more "practical" ride. Hey, at least all the kids can ride in the Civic!
