i like what i hear about the 5g civic but dont know what the power potential is for a b18c jdm engine. I am new to this so will need help.
1. What 1/4 mi times to expect stock /with turbo
2. how much for the b18c install itself. (average)
3. If i choose to go with turbo what parts do you use to rebuild a jdm b18c( since jdm does this mean it is strong enough for FI stock)

Please help me : this would me in a 5g coupe/hatch 5spd.

okay, stop it.... the jdm b18c has neither a 1 nor a 5........ it either does or does not have an R

1. shut the hell up..... there are too many variables.
2. it wouldn't cost me anything..... you shouldn't pay more than $500 for it.
3. do some research... the stock motor will hold up to 300 hp.

i plan on using a turbo but do not know what type to use. I would like to have around 425hp in a streetable combo. I talked with a honda specialist center and they told me to go with the USDM b/c of compression(charge $4000 for b18c1 gsr) is this a good price for motor+tran+install.

i can install it myself too but i need to know for this hp level what i need to do to the bottom end, heads, cams etc. what to get and how much would it cost.
The main thing that has me puzzled is this ecu, ignition timing, hooking up vtec wires, and this P72 thing. I am a mustang guy, never heard of this stuff before. (I'm not saying that its all a bad thing) the reason for the change is that hondas are more efficient
Please help

head will be fine. cams make sure to get one that is designed for turbo application not NA. bottom end will hold up to about 8psi. any more than that and you will want to put new pistons, rods, arp bolts etc.. P72 is the ecu.. just the name of it. when you get the engine and ecu just get the harness for it also so it will just be plug and play as for the install of the engine it should just drop in the 92-95 doesnt need special motormounts if i remember correctly

In Japan both the C1 and C5 are simply known as b18c. The best way to tell the difference on a stock motor is by the intake manifold. The GSR B18c1 has an intake manifold that looks like it's upside down. Where as the c5 intake looks more or less likes like a b16 and d series.

for the turbo and all of that jazz what kind of electrical components will i need. The AEM EMS is that worth the money for a street setup or can i get it done as effectivly with another less expensive type. Also will the AEM EMS or other system control everything i need it to control for the high boost application or will i need acessories IE. boost controller, etc.

dude, what do you want? B18c what? there are so many different types and the compression ratios dont work the same on all of them. i have a friend with a gs engine which is a B18B1
then you have a gs-r engine. then there is the ls vtec and non vtec B18's. then there is the c5 type r which isnt that great with a turbo( i have it). the compression is too low. TURBO LAG. i am planning on a b16a2 actually. very good engine and very overlooked. try something different and go with a spoon b16a2. there is one on ebay right now for very cheap! SPOON SPOON SPOON!
