Me, of everyone in this blessed world has bought a Honda...

Being the hardcore BMW fanatic i am, this is a very unlikely situation...

This is my B20 build project...

The car is a Honda Civic EJ8 1997 model year, originally had a D-series motor...

Final results will probably look something like this;

What i already have;

-Honda B20B block
-Eagle con-rods and crank-shaft
-SRP pistons 12.5:1
-ARP conrodstuds (OEM Eagle)
-ITR ARP headstuds
-Cometic MLS head gasket
-ACL bearings, both main and conrod
-New B16B head
-B16 22T waterpump
-ITR timing belt
-B16A2 oil pump (do i need to upgrade?)
-Magnetic Oil-Drain plug (for the break-in, but i'll probably leave it in)
-NGK V-power BKR7E spark plugs
-P28 ECU og 310cc injectors

What i'm waiting to arrive from USA:
-BuddyClub Exhaust headers
-Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold (307-05-0280)
-Skunk2 Alpha 70mm ThrottleBody (309-05-1050)
-Skunk2 Racing Mega Power Cat Back Exhaust System (413-05-2000)
-Crower Stage III Camshafts (BC0023)
-Crower Valvesprings (BC0020)
-Crower Oversized Valves (BC3022 & BC3023)
-Spec Stage 2 Kevlar Street Clutch (SA262)
-Spec Lightweight Flywheel (SA86A)

Future plans include:
-AEM Ignition system (Induvidual Coil on Plug)
-AEM Fuel Rail
-AEM Fuel Pump
-AEM Standalone
-Grams 550cc injectors

I have a OEM B16A2 gearbox to fit with this, but i'm looking to get a S9B tranny from a British B18C6 Civic (VTi)

Both because it has LSD and a higher final drive than the B16A2 tranny... (4.26 opposed to 4.40)

Also looking to buy a block guard to help with the 10.000rpm ;)

Should be able to turn 12.000 if i sleeve the block, right ?

Any hp guesses are welcome and suggestions are welcome too...

I will be posting pictures once i start putting things together...

The type r transmission also has more dual synchro'd gears the the b16 trans. Plans sounds good. As for a power estimate, id say low 200's for whp since there is no mention of a tuning solution from the start. Maybe a good 240/175 aster tuning but way up in the rpm range.

Really, i'm spending close to 9grand on this motor and i'm getting 200ish hp :?:

With stage III camshafts and all that extra stuff... crazy revs... i can't believe i won't be in the 300hp range :?:

310cc injectors are just a start... 550cc will be there soon and with an all AEM fuel system and ignition system...

Well... B16A2 are 160hp in stock form.... B20 VTEC should be 200hp in "stock form" and more with tuning...

If you're talking about flywheel hp then you are closer to the 300 range. But not to the wheels. Google around and try to find 300 wheel horsepower b20vtec setups. Built h2b's and k and j series will guy 300's no problem.

Your setup will be quite a mean car but not 300 material.

Definitely not 300. Welcome to Honda. Lot of money for not much gain.

Good luck!

220-230whp with an awesome tune

150-160 ft lbs
With 10k to 12k revs... i'm looking into a more aggressive amount of hp...

Look at me as i blow my motor up

Well... seriously though, if i wont break 300hp... i'll drop the compression and turbo this b**** !!!

No more updates other than.... i've bought a Skunk2 weighted gear knob, billet vtec solenoid and solenoid cover, low profile valvecover fittings, ITR style 16" 4x100 wheels...

Tein Super Street Coilovers will be installed next week if everything goes as planned...

Looking to buy both AEM fuel and ignition systems + standalone next month !

I'm so excited to hear my VTEC trigger with the 70mm throttlebody along with my Whale Penis intake 8)

Winding the motor up a lot doesn't translate to power. Boost will get you your power

This is 9k US, after shipping and taxes in Iceland ;)

I'm not sure how winding up a motor with stage 3 cams, worked head and build bottom end doesn't translate to power...

Stock BMW M62 motor will "unlock" 33hp flywheel just by increasing revs by 800rpm and remapping fuel and ignition tables...

9k if you go about it the right way, yes. Trying something outside the box probably won't meet that budget.
The rev thing, take that same bmw you mentioned and only increase revs....its not going to make more and more power. Just like you said, remapped fuel and ignition had to be done. If Just revving higher was the answer they would increase revs beyond just 800 more. Those big cams in the b20 will peak power wise before a 10,000-12,000rpm range. Its not a formula1 setup. Think of the insane piston speeds you'd have with that stroke and super high revs lol
