idle all messed up

i have a 2000 si and the check engine light is on and its on because when the car is warm its idles at 1500 and the idle is not steady it drops and goes back up and it also almost sounds like its misfiring because it drops a little bit really quick and then goes back up. i was wondering if anyone has had this happen to there si. HELP PLEASE!

i think its a bad idle air control valve or module. forgot what it was called. did you mess with the throttle body or cable?

make sure the idle air control valve is connected, and make sure your throttle cable has its correct tension, check your ignition timing, be sure jump the spout connector thats next to your ecu behind the passenger kick panel and also turn all accessories off, when performing all these diagnostic tests, the engine must be at normal operating tempuratures for everything to be read correctly.
