Idle relearn procedure question

In the Honda shop manual for the idle relearn it mentions to recheck ignition timing in step 5.

My question is does it really throw the timing off if the idle screw is turned? I had to slightly turn mine to get it to spec but don't have a timing light

not physically but I would check timing before messing with the idle

auto parts stores rent things like timing guns for free

Do you know if you can set timing using a wifi device like the elm327 or need a timing gun

Never heard of it but from a quick search online I don't think so

So you'll need a timing light
