Idle surge!!

Started idle surge last night from 1k to roughly 1500..its weird because when i turn my ac on it stops doing it and idles at around 900. I know the car is on obd1 with a p30 basemap from import power house. got the car with it so im not sure what their basemap is like. car runs fine when i drive it but when it idles it does that crap.

Try cleaning the IACV .. or Idle Air Control Valve! That causes major idle fluctuations.. or the FICV ( i think thats what its called), ( Fine Idle Contol Valve).... where it is OBD1 it has both!

Sorry. What is idle surge?
I was in my car today, just parked, and the CEL came on and the car kept going to 2k rpms. Then back down to 1500, then back up. Turned off the car. Then back on and it was fine. Is that the same thing?
