i've thought about this before. i dont think it will work very well as a theft deterrent unless u can hide it well enough where they will never find it. that will be tough. If you relocate the ignition the steering wheel wont lock at all which will make it easier to steal. Unless u keep a fake ignition switch in the place of the original one and just use that to unlock the steering wheel. that would mean u would have two keys. one to keep the steering wheel from locking and the other to run the car. All the ignition is is a switch that u can only turn with a key. If you relocate it, another thing to think about is to put it in a steel box where the back of it cannot be accessed without cutting something.Rocko790165 said:Hey I was thinking about relocating my ignition thats located near the steering wheel somewhere else for a little more theft detterent. you wont lose it if u just keep the switch there and run the wires to another one elsewhere. then you'll have two keys. if u feel comfortable u can even leave the key in the switch sometimes just to keep the steering wheel unlocked.Beelzebubba said:Saab it.

You'll lose the steering wheel lock but that is pretty pointless and easy for a thief to break anyway
