IHI Turbo

I was going through a friends garage the other day, and he had an IHI turbo off a probe that he wrecked. In exchange for me helping him cleaning the garage he gave me the turbo, a timer, and alot of beer. My question will the IHI turbo be any good on my b16a for a small setup to play with? I have read a couple places that the turbo is rather small, and has trouble with boost at top end. My question is mainly is it really worth building a turbo setup with this small turbo? I only plan to do 6psi at the most, and maybe upgrade later.

might be a little small. The 12valve Probe turbo (FE Mazda??? I can't rmember Mazda nomenclature) didn't breathe anywhere near as well as the B16 is capable of.

But I can't really say positively.

It should work real nice on muh D series...ya know...if you're just gonna throw it away...:D

for small boost it's fine, i had a a mx-6 with the same motor as the turbo probe, which the motor was made by mazda, started to loss it's umph afte 18 psi, therefore i ran 17 and no more, but however this turbo, or maybe it was the whole motor that produced a hell of alot of heat, stock they were ran at 7 psi with boost spikes of 9 to 10 psi, boost spiking was common with the way mazda had set this system up.
here's a link to my mx6 http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/444470

It's a small turbo, but if it's free... so... just spend the money on building a custom kit, run low boost, and call it a day.

I swear I'm dyslexic or something...
because I read d16... damn... b16 is better than a d16...
I was thinking hmt all the way.

in that case... trade someone the smaller turbo and some cash for a larger one... possibly T3/T04E.

you are a f**king retard. that particular turbo 95% sure its a rhb5, is a great turbo. atleast on d16's, its the same turbo my friend has and i will be using later this year. we see full boost (10psi) at about 2600rpms. so to say this turbo is garbage is retarded, thus you are a retard. go f**king learn. =)

It's too small for b16s.
That's what we're saying.
