Honestly im having bad luck with cars...
Since the last two that i really like either sold or were just garbage. I hate it when people dont list all the things they have done to the car. I went to look at this 99 ex coupe with only 75k miles on it. i get there and first thing i noticed is the car was repainted and smoked in. He never said that on the listing for his car. Times are tough now i have to many things running thru my head. I just recently graduated highschool and i really wouldnt like to go back for antoher 3 years to college. Well ill get to the point. I live in Illinois and i really have not noticed any si's around and i found this one. Help me out again all input is welcome. Maybe this is the one?

Welcome back.

Well when you sell or advertise things on local classifieds such as craiglist, people don't want to read a whole page. That is why you make it brief and leave a number. If people are interested they will call/text you and ask more detailed questions and check it out in person.

I know you are not selling anything, I am just giving you a different perspective.

That Si looks nice, but for the color they put down supermarine Blue Pearl which is funny.. I'd like to see an engine bay shot though. Just go check it out and give it a test drive.

Welcome back man. I'd get a little more info about the car. But from what I can see, the price looks about right.

According to wikipedia, a EM1 has 27/31 city/hwy MPG. I didn't think their MPG was that good. No point for a single cam. Another site said a EX Sedan has 29/36, got damn.

6th gen civics are over ten years ago. Its hard to find a stock one or one in good condition. Just be patient and good luck. Try looking at nearby cities and ask a lot of questions and ask to see a lot of pics so you don't waste valuable and gas driving there.

You're in the Schaumburg area; there's TONS of cars up there. You just have to be patient. Have you tried extending your search? Sometimes you can find these cars in little po-dunk towns for retarded cheap.

Too bad you're not wanting a hatch. I know someone selling a completely stock virgin, for only $2000, obo and he's only about 2 hours south of you.

Good luck!

It looks alright from the pictures, the price is good. Get the Vin number and check the cars history. Make sure nothing looks fishy. carfax will tell you if it has ever been in an accident, if it ever failed smog, alot of info. thats your first step to do. then you have to inspect the car in person. You have to look at the paint, the alignment lines, you have to make sure it wasnt totalled before and fixed up. check the thread in the tire, check the interior for burns and stains. Drive it and see how it feels. if you have a buddy who has a stock si, it will give you an idea of how it should sound and feel like. If anything is f**ked up, you could walk away or bring down the price.Use the negatives as a negotiation tool.

Si is rarer, and you could sell faster down the road. If you have money to buy Si and find a good deal out there, get it.

IF you had the choice between an ex or an si.... which would you choose..
The ex has lets say 77k miles and is just stock 5spd. The si has about 140k miles stock also.

In my eyes mileage doesn't matter, I'll just replace the worn things. I'd take the Si, even if the EX is in better condition.

I have an EX and wish I had an Si, Im fixing up my car to make it look like an Si, I should of got an Si, but 7 years ago I didnt know. Not to mention Si were 3 years old and expensive. So now they are much affordable, if you could find a descent one.
