immobilizer light

I have a 2001 Civic coupe and the immobilizer light has recently started flashing constantly. I have the original key and the car starts fine, but the stupid light won't stop blinking at me. Anyone have any ideas why it would just start doing this? Thanks

Is the CEL on?

Do you have any other keys with a transponder on the same key ring with your Civic transponder key?

nope, no other keys on my keyring. Just the car key. No CEL either.
