In your opinion Si vs Si clone

I'm debating to buy a civic si real for 4000$ @140k miles. An hr drive away.

Or a civic si clone for 3500$@100k miles. Not 100% sure on distance but I'm sure it's closer

I like the one at 3500 but I don't like the idea of telling my friends it's a clone. Then again a lot of civic out there arent si's. Which do you prefer and this selection which sounds good on paper?

what does it matter if its a clone? if you like it then get it, i would usually go for the cheaper model anyways. when its an exact clone and cheaper im definitely going for the cheaper model unless its done shitty.

I would go for the original SI in large part because theyre not very common and $4000 is a great deal for one if its in solid condition. Secondly, most Civics labeled as "clone Si" are not done with a reasonable attention to detail. That means that multiple parts of the car have been modified or disassembled, thus the potential for projects to have been done poorly or incorrectly. An hours drive for a real SI means a potential fun hours drive back in a rear SI.

I agree with both hex and mc360 if you like buy but real si's are hard to come by. In the end its your decision

Si. not that it's a Lambo, but the collector value is better. and if you're gonna do any mods at all, i'd rather spend the money on a real deal Si, than a clone.
