I recently traded a friend of mine for a P28 ECU, I need it as one of my many parts involved in the turbo project. I'm a little bit curious about it though and figured I'd post in here to see what I could find out.

- I've heard any VTEC engine could be run off this ECU? True or False?
Someone had said that you could just plug this in and it would run fine, I think if I plugged it into my car right now with the H22 it would probably run really lean because its setup for a 1.6L SOHC VTEC.

...and

- Does it have a factory speed governor?

Any info is appreciated, Thanks

A CHIPPED P28 ecu can run any vtec honda motor, that is pretty true. Also I would not plug a P28 into your H22 without it being chipped. You are only asking for trouble.

Speed govenor wheter it had it or not can be turned off when chipped.

p28s dont have knock sensor. p72s do that is the reason most people prefer p28 over 72. onece an ecu is chipped you can make it do pretty much anything you want it to(within reason). but some times the knock sensor gets in the way of what you want it to do. i would wait till it is chipped to see if it will run your h22.
