Inner tie rod replacement

OK I'm finally changing tie rods on my 99 and everything I find is to remove the outer can anyone shed light on this for me

Why do you want to replace the inner tie rods?

Is fluid leaking from the rack end seals?

No but figured might as well change them while doing the outer ones

Are the inners loose and floppy?

When I move the wheel side to side it pops

Do you know that the popping is due to bad tie rods?

I went ahead and changed outer tie rods took a grand total of an hour

EDIT: Also it fixed my problem
