I know there's many threads on this topic but none that seemed to answer my questions. I have a d16y8 manual
The chirp is most audible when I shift from 1,2,3 and accelerate. Sometimes at idle I can hear it which at first misled me to think it was a loose belt or bad pulley.
It doesn't have a grinding noise like most report, and it does go away when the clutch is pressed.
My questions, is there a time frame from the symptoms I've given of how long I can continue driving on it before it gets really ugly?
Are there any dangerous risks in driving right now?
Would it be a better choice to source a used transmission or replacing the bearing?
Thanks
