went to install my boost gauge earlier today and found out, amongst other things, that i cant find the ignition switch power wire. my haynes said its a white-black wire but i looked under the steering column and couldnt find it. if anyone knows where the ignition switch is and the power wires to the head lights, that would be awesome too. (my haynes said red-grn for high and red-wht (i think) for low whichever one is 12v)

You can always wire the key on-power on wire down to the interior fuse box. Just find one of the empty fuse spaces that have power to them only when the car is on. Also for the light wire, just pop out the dimmer control and wire it to the power wire for that. It only comes on when the headlights are turned on so that solves that problem too.

Is it an electrical or mechanical gauge, if it's mechanical you can grab power off of an accessory, like the radio, just fuse it. The accessory in the ignition harness is yellow. the ignition harness will be in a thick black harness wrapped up with tape, you have to look all the way up under the steering column, it's a thick gauge wire. But pre 95 is a brown connection above the fuse box, not in the steering column. Just make sure because Igntion is Black/Yellow and Starter is Black/White

hope this helps
