Ive got a 97 civic ex and am trying to install a pioneer premier cd player model deh-p7800mp. I have power to all wires and all wires correctly hooked up...at least i think so. Anyway nothing pwers on the head unit whatsoever. I switch the ignition switch off and it beeps then kicks the faceplate down(security). So i know the head is getting somekind of power in order to do that. But why does nothing light up or even allow me to funtion anything. I head u have to reset it before use the first time so i tried that still nothing. Is there a special way it must be done? Does the ground from the head unit HAVE to be connected to a bolt or is hirness ground fine? Any help would be great

Usually the harness ground cable is fine but to make sure the end of that cable is grounded aka connected to the some bolt check the fuses or turn the ignition on and use a test light to see if power is coming to the unite or find a better ground place
