Ok.. I've decided to install my skunk2 coilovers on my own.. i found a tutorial on how to install SPRINGS.. on http://www.hazone.com ... my question is, is the method for installing coils and springs different? I know you have to mess with the coilovers to set them to a correct height, but im talking about the actual install.. (compressing springs, cutting bumpstops, etc).. are there different methods for installing the two different types of suspension? thanks.. oh yea, if anyone has a tutorial on how to install coilovers on an EG coupe, that would be most helpful.. thanks again.. Mitch

no its all the same only cool thing about coilover is that you don't have to compress the springs when putting everything back together. you just drop the height adjustment to the lowest point to were it clears the top part, then put that on and onc eyou get it all in you can work on your height

Those O-Rings are for slipping them on on the shock body and the threaded cup goes over it. This prevents the cup from moving around and insure a tight fit. If the cup sits crooked, there might be a chance that you might damage the cup thread.

you don't need any of that extra ruber s**t, infact depending on what shocks you have they might not even fit. i have ran GC on my car for alil over 2 year, no problem, on my integra i had them for 6months and the guy befor me had them for 4 years, no problems (he didn't use the orings either), on 4 freinds cars that i installed GC on i never installed the rubber parts, that was 5 years ago, and the coilovers, shocks everything is just fine

For stock shocks, it definately needed them. The thread cup had alot of play.

True, also depends on what kind of shocks you have on.

The illuminas needed a thinner size oring when I got it installed.
