Installing Front speakers in Civic 98LX

My civic had Alpine SPS 17C in the front panel. They are 10 years old. I just bougt my self an Alpine SPR 17 2007 model. I took out the old speakers and tried to put in the SPR, but found out that the SPR cant fit because it has a larger magnet.

I tried to do some research and I was told to just plug it in. Others said I would have to do some cutting after removing the door panel. Any suggestions?

Another thing, can my stock deck handle the speakers? I couldnt find any specs on the stock deck.

your more than likely going to have to cut the panel to make them fit or get a different set of speakers with a smaller magnet. i have a set of alpines from my old car and they dont fit up front either, im going to have to cut but havent gotten around to it yet, especially in this weather

just cut away, mine are cut I have polk db's with tweeters.

There is also this item that crutch field sells which allow you to mount speakers with larger magnets...I forget what its called but i'm sure you should be able to find it.
