I've got a DX hatch with no power anything. I want to put in an alarm but i want kelyess entry and all that stuff. Question: can i take a power lock assembly from a 92-95 ex/si and swap it in with relative ease? :?:

you can buy universal door lock actuators and hook them on to the bar that the locks go to. Get them on ebay for about 10 - 20 bucks.

And then could i use kelyess entry features when I buy a viper alarm that is equipped with that option? The guys at the shop said that they'd charge more or wouldnt do it if i had nonfactory locks. so back to my question, CAN I SWAP IN THE POWER LOCK ASSEMBLIES FROM AN SI/EX?

yeah you can swap in oem lock solenoids but thats more work and costs more. Why dont you ask the installer how much more it would cost you to add aftermarket door lock solenoids vs adding oem ones. I can almost guarantee you its cheaper to go with aftermarket unless theyre going to rip you off.

I would go this way for sure, it's a lot easier. I did my ek OEM and it was a b***h to install everything. Go aftermarket with an alarm too

You can find actuators on ebay for less than $10. I bought 4 of them for that price (Plus shipping). Go get you a set or however many door locks you want to install them in, and a decent alarm system, and I'll help guide you through the install. The actuators *should* come with everything you'll need, but you'll possibly need a few relays depending on how many actuators you want to install. I dont remember installing them into a 95, but I install these at least 10x a week in the 05 Civics.

Better yet, take a pic of your door with your paneling off. That way I can tell you how and where to mount the actuator, and where to route the wiring if you dont know.

Im not on these boards much, so if you need any help or questions feel free to email me. Good luck
