lol im too tired to do a search...but i guess i should. ill get on it now. i found this but it's confusing to me cuz others i've found are different.

Shifter Installation Instructions

1) Remove shift knob, center console and shift boot
2) Raise vehicle and support it on jack stands.
3) Remove heat shield below shifter
(NOTE: it may be necessary to remove exhaust components to gain access to heat shield).
4) Remove bolt from shift arm which will swing down to allow access to the torque rod.
5) Unbolt torque rod and lower the assembly.
6) Remove shifter and boot from torque rod.
7) Remove nylon shift ball seat and rubber boot from shifter.
8) Install boot and nylon seat onto new shifter. (Apply a light film of assembly lube onto shifter ball)
9) Install lever onto torque rod.
10) Reinstall torque rod assembly
11) Reinstall shift arm using supplied bushings and bolt.
12) Replace heat shield and any exhaust components removed in step 3.
13) Reinstall boot, console and shift knob.
14) Test shifter with vehicle still on jack stands.
15) Road test vehicle.

thats pretty much all that you gotta do. you might have to drop the exhaust, like it says. it'll take a few hours....plus lots of fun in the process.

Make sure to test the shifter, after tighten up the bolt and nut (that attaches to the shift linkage) at the bottom of the shifter, to make sure you can still shift.

How long did it take to install all together? Also, does the short shifter work fine just by itself? Or do I need bushings, as ncluded here: http://www.robearracing.com/pd_skunk_2_short.cfm
it took about 45 minutes, which included getting my jack stands set up, jacking up the car, removing, and installing. not too long, and easy as hell in my opinion. thats a good deal on that link....i should have done that!! i need the shift knob now...

didn't drop the exhaust, although it would make it easier for instaling the short shifter, but more time consuming. no problems except the fact that it rubs the exhaust pipe barely so when you gas a little bit the shifter vibrates and rattles sometimes :( but i broke one of my bushings so it has a lot of play, that could be it!

A single bend... why not the double? I love my double bend, had it installed for about 50 miles worth of driving before we decided I need a new motor, well the car kinda decided for me. Did you get the Skunk2 knob too? They work awesome together, I installed ES bushings at the same time, day and night difference.

you'll see when you drop your old one...you just replace the old ones with the new ones.
