So today i decided to buy a tach for 50 bucks, since my car doesnt come stock with one. I read up on how to instal it prior to buying it and i thought it wouldnt be that bad. Now i have it mounted, grounded, powered, and lit up when i turn on the lights. Now i am left with the signal wire.. I tried it on my ignition coil (negitive terminal), but when i turned the car on it just went up a little bit then dropped back to zero.. while i was reving it. I also checked to see if it was on 4 cylinder. which it was. Next i realized that people put the signal wire into the Blue wired 2 pin connector thing on the drivers side behind the shock tower. I tried that.. nothing at all.. I need some help here, and i havn't had any luck with searching.
Thanks

just a little additive to what you have already done and for those who read this in the future... you can always pull out your dash and splice into what is already there. there is a wire that runs to the dash that is for you tach it is blue and its on the big plug for you insturments. if i recall its on the far left. you can also run all you other wires to the same spot saving yourself so time and hassel of playing hide and seek. you have to have your main power and ground but all the other wires are easily found behind the dash...in line splice clip and your done!
