I was looking at some Greddy Intake Manifolds at http://www.tunersports.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_24&products_id=139 Is it worth getting this for a stock civic EX, (i plan on putting other add ons, before i put this on, if i put this on) becuase it says Optimized fro maximum power from 7000 to 10000 RPM. I mean My civic redlines at 7000 RPMs. Is this the right thing for me or no?
if your car cant rev beyond 7000 rpm, and the manifold only gains power from 7000-10,000 rpm, then taking a shot in the dark here id say no. if your 5'6, would you buy pants for someone thats 7'6? dont think so. that manifold is for a fully built n/a monster, that is worthless for anything but a full race car.

Would a Skunk2 intake mani be along the same lines, or does the quote below mean it helps at reasonable rpm's specific to the car make?

Skunk2 Racing manifolds are designed to maximize flow as well as increase the effects of wave scavenging at each engine's key operating RPM range.

" The Skunk2 Racing Intake Manifold has substantially improved flow characteristics over the factory unit. Dyno-testing has shown an 8 to 15 hp increase on naturally aspirated applications at the wheels. The Skunk2 Racing manifold is also perfect for forced induction applications. The Skunk2 Racing manifold is designed to utilize all factory sensors. Use of this manifold will not affect emissions. "

I don't understand why they would make a monifold for only power at the 7000-10000 rpm's makes no sense to me they would sell more if they made it like 4000-7000..... but anyway yea the skunk 2 should be good for almost every engine i've seen it with turbo's and NA motors...

i think its cheaper to get a stock mani and port n polish it. also have the tb bored out ot match the mani. for noticable power from a manifold, you will need the basic i/h/e and camshaft and gear.

well if you plan on boosting sometime in the future... which i hope you do to get any power out of an SOHC... then you might as well get an aftermarket one.... a lot of people running with the greddy turbo kit are throwing in the skunk 2 intake manifold and are very pleased with it... just a thought not to disagree with you anekin thats a good point

Get a ITR or Skunk 2 there is a sticky on manifolds that you should read the manifold you put up is for boosted or fully built motors as is the edelbrock manifold they give you TO MUCH air and you wont get anything out of it.BIgger is not always better.I payed 260 for my ITR manifold and another 50 to get it fully ported and port matched.

Optimized fro maximum power from 7000 to 10000 RPM the Victor X manifold is designed for turbo and all-motor applications on the Honda/Acura B-Series engine.
it is explaining the app for a B series motor not a D. what ^^^ said. why is it link to a jg mani? its not a greddy. i dont recall greddy making a intake mani
