Ok, this MIGHT have been posted but yea... Ok. I own the 1998 civic LX and i put in AEM short ram, and wen i hit the throttle a little bit under half, it whistles like mad. Now im thinking its from the throttle body or the intake manifold. Anyone have this problem? and is there a way to get rid of it? Thanks.

throttle body......aftermarket or stock?
my first mod was my intake...and i got no whistling noise...but when i switch gears it sounds like a small turbo 
my friends aftermarket throttle body would whistle like crazy, i hated it.

my AEM CAI whistles too... it's just from a lot more air entering into the intake manifold through your intake... it is perfectly normal...
yea i had a sri, whistled like a biatch.. thats totally normal.

Yeah, don't worry about it. My AEM short ram whistles too but only between 3k and 4K rpms. Sounds really sweet. It's normal cause I asked about it my self when I first notice it from two different mechanics they said. It's normal. It does sound like a "small turbo".
my s**t whistles too ... what was funny is it didnt when i first got it but a year later started doing it and i was like OH NO ... but then i remembered my friends intake on his integra doin the same s**t so i know its nothin to worry about.
The vaccuum whistling is normal... and it's one of the primary reason why the stock intakes "are crap and restrictive".
Since the average person prefers a quiet car, car designers made intakes that also tried to muffle the vaccuum "whistling", hence the long stock intake and resonator box.
You've just experienced an engineering trade off. For freer flow, you gave up quietness.
Come to think of it though, a lot of the noise comes from the design of the intake and filter. It's effectively the "rough edges" which creates the turbulent air as it gets sucked in making that sound. If intake and filter makers would design a more horn like intake, that would probably help quiet the sound a bit....

Normal. My Injen SRI whistles a little. I kinda like it. Doesn't it take like 300miles before your computer makes and changes for any mods?
Doesn't take that long of driving. You could always disconnect your battery for 24 hours and have it start fresh, I believe.
dude ur intake whistles because it is sucking in air for the intake, its normal, so dont worry bout it
