My car just started making a clicking noise every so often but it was not a constant noise. I've been told that it is a bent intake valve. Does anyone know how to tell if it is a bent vavle, and also where i can find directions on how to replace intake valves? (the head is already off the car) thanks for ur help.

Clicking noise does not necesarily mean a bent intake valve, the engine would run like s**t if it did. From what it sounds like, you probably only needed rocker arm adjustment.

I just had the same issue with my poorman type r. about 3 days ago the engine started ticking and it's very noticeable and consistant with rpm. Weird thing though, the car still drives completely normal. The ticking doesn't get any louder it slows down with rpm. No steam from under the hood, no smoke from my tailpipe. Car idles at the normal point so I think it's just a valve tick and needs adjustment/

You don't want to replace anything until you localize the source of the noise. Engines noises have a lot of causes. Put the engine back together and buy an inexpensive engine stethoscope to help you pinpoint the noise. Check the head/valves, the drive and timing belt area and components, and even the block. Y8s are known for blowing rod bearings.

Got my valve adjustment last thursday and come to find out there was a missing nut on one of the parts in the valve train so we threw on one and adjusted the valves and it runs super smooth now and quiet. Acceleration is amazing and vtec kicks harder/

and it didn't break anything? or throw anything out? you lucked out sir, if one of the nuts on the top of the spring was gone it would have blown apart and dropped teh valve..

good to hear its fixed
