Interior Lights won't turn off even with doors closed

I have recently started having a problem with the interior lights on my 2006 civic EX coupe. They stay on if I have them set on the 'door' setting regardless if the doors are open or closed. To get them to turn off (both the front and rear interior lights) I have to set both switches to 'off' instead of 'door'.

Before I started having this problem these lights would turn on when I get in and then dim and turn off in 30 seconds or so. Now they just stay on all the time unless I have the switches set to off.

The plunger type switches in the door jab which activate the door ajar dashboard indicator are working fine because when the doors are closed the door ajar indicator is off.

The fuse related to the interior lights in both fuse panels are fine. I just checked them.

Any recommendations here? I have searched around online quite a bit and I cannot seem to find anyone with the same problem.

Thanks,
