i mean we all want fast cars. i dream of having a decently fast civic, but that will probably never happen due to my financial situation. but once you start actually making a car fast, theres a line between where a car is fast and where it is uselessly fast, the point where its so fast its pointless because fwd has no traction, and you have no opponents, etc etc. is boosting really worth it? i want to get like 250 - 300whp probably at the most, what would be the best / cheapest way to achieve this? i don't want to spray because thats like taking a chance with death (both for you and your motor) lol, and i dont have the funds / parents wont let me do a swap, so is boosting worth it? I have a stock 2000 civic ex, so stock d16y8 motor. are boosted Ds really as fun as people say? i know this has been asked a million times but just want some opinions, are superchargers cheaper? or is turbo the way to go?

well let me first say to get 250-300 you are still goin to have to spend some money...and also turboing or supercharging a car is just as dangerous as running nitrous...and yes turbo d's are fun to drive

300Hp is 300Hp, no matter what the motor. Yes, boosting would be a good choice for you motor.

imo its not worth it, you;lll have a 300whp civic. you;ll never get the money u put into a car back out so honestly u should probably not spend all your money on your car if u arent finacially able to be able to throw money at your car and still be able to make money for the long run.

yes, boosting your car is definatly worth it. You're 16, your situation will improve. I dont think anyone here had a super nice car with money to spend on major mods when they were 16. s**t, I paid $2200 for my first car, and it sat for a month before I had the money to replace a few parts so it was safe to drive, belts, water pump, wheel bearing.... I didnt do a single mod to it while I was in HS, this was a mazda, not nearly as much support has hondas have.

yeah im broke lol, iono ill see what happens as time progresses, if i have the money ill try to invest it into performance (but dad will say put it all towards college), so maybe i can balance it between college and my car on the side.

Uselessly fast thats a good one -- I suggust you use Hondata to tune as it has a quite nice feature to allow you to tune boost based on gear your in for instance
1st - 3 psi
2nd - 7 psi
3rd - 13 psi
4th - 19psi
5th - 500psi

This allows you to tune and set the boost limit on each gear slightly before you start loosing traction quite handy.

Never used it before definatly smart to think about it and with hondata you cant go wrong.

BOOST IS WORTH IT! I rock a single cam right now. recently got the head done (block is already built) and im making 390+!!!! im working on getting a cam and cam gear and maybe up those numbers im trying to hit 400WHP... but honestly single cams on boost are hella fun!.... im sure u can turbo ur car for less then 600 bucks... powered by the good ol DSM T-25 with dsm injectors and everything. i think it was an HX(???) manifold and an adaptor plate and just keep it at like 6-8 PSI.

SINGLE CAM BOOST FTW!!!
