1998 ford f-150. He wants $600. I was going to offer $450.

Truck has motor knock.I was doing work for a guy and took truck as partial payment. I thiught my son might want to fix it for a winter vehicle. I thought wrong. Truck is in great shape.180,000 miles. Two wheel drive. Long bed.Front tires like new. Back tread fair.Power windows and locks. Cruise control. Tilt steering. A/C. The guys mechanic told him could be main bearings. The guy told me that the pressure gauge dropped to zero. I had it towed home. I let the truck run for 45 minutes and pressure was fine. I know a guy with dealer plates and we drove it about 10 miles and pressure was fine. But again there is motor noise.
I don't know s**t about Ford's, let alone trucks but my roommate / friend does and he's damn good at fixing anything. He knows his s**t. I know I could get his help fixing it. But I'm not sure if I want to get it or if it's worth trying to fix.

2wd sucks. Thats why its so cheap John. Its more than likely going to need a new motor. Or a complete rebuild.

nope, I don't think it's worth it. nothing but problems with those. My friend had one and he just gave it away, it still ran too.

Walworth.

I talked to my roommate and he said if it just needs main bearings, it's a real easy fix, and they're relatively cheap parts.

I dunno....

they arent bad. 2wd sucks, but thats just my opinion. the knock is the bearings, if is too bad then you might also need to replace a rod, and have the crank replaced or turned, that was the problem i had with my first car.

I wouldn't ever need it for 4wd. I wouldn't go mudding (I have atv's and a jeep for that) and you don't need 4wd in the snow unless driving through a foot of snow, you just need to throw some weight in the back.

I don't think I'll end up getting it. Guy hasn't e-mailed me back yet.

if it runs, I'd buy it. You can get 1 or 2 jumps out of it before its destroyed.

unless you were buying it for a DD. Then I'd pass.
