Alright, heres my crazy idea:

Everyone knows how I have that open space (double din) where the cc is and ive been trying to figure out what to put in the empty space...

(inspiration thanks to oc_civic)

i wanna get an indash monitor where that hole is now, but I want it so that, whatever cd I play, that it plays the corresponding music video on the screen...

is this even possible?

i belive it is possible, but it would be pretty tough, probably involve a carputer or dvd unit for the movies, the easiest way i can think of it to do it how i did in an avalance, use a video ipood and hook it to the screens input

you would of course have to download the movies and all

you could hook up your screen to a dvd player and have the audio output of the dvd player hooked up to the input of your deck. that is if you have a cd plyer with input jacks. that how i had mine...you follow me? or did i lose you..lol

oh yea you would have to use a program to burn the videos to a dvd format. :D

exactly, thats what i came up with. Basically burn the videos to a dvd format, then using a dvd player, play the video on the screen and have the audio go through your normal speakers..

well, I want the headunit to be down below (96-98 style) and the screen to go in the climate control area, so any recommendations on a headunit / monitor (dvd player) combo?

i've had 2...

the pioneer combo with an angle screen, which was pretty user friendly. i bypassed the motion cut off by grounding one of the wires. can't remember which one right now but as soon as i remember ill let you know.

the other was an alpine head unit with multiple outputs and inputs for sound.

i used a dvd player mounted under the seat for the video.(one of those small ones, i think it was a blaupnk *sp)

and a 5.6in mobile screens for the viewing pleasures..lol

both worked great .
The combo was more expensive but
it was a lot less trouble to put in.

edit* this was on my 240 but it shouldn't be much diff on a civic as long as you know what your doing :D

You know it would be easier to just get a double din monitor all in one. Alpine makes a great unit this year for $999.99

I dont understand why everybody tries to put cheap stuff together to make it work.

Save up a little more money and save the headache

you can buy like 400GB hard drive now, so... buy about ten, fit them into a computer some how, then fit it into your car, and you're allllllll set.
