Is there a nonvtec d16y8?

Hey I'm new to the website came over from clubintegra. I have a 2000 Honda civic ex engine code d16y8 and I've been confused because I'm been getting mixed information about there being a nonvtec d16y8 I know the head isn't vtec but i got the car used and I'm wondering if the head could have been swaped . or maybe there is a nonvtec d16y8 . Anyways any help would be much appreciated

How do you know that the head is a non vetc one? and no there isnt a non vtec y8, it could be a y7 head, but it wouldnt make sense for someone to put a y7 head on a y8 to me.

no such thing as a non vtec y8 and there is no reason anybody with half a brain would swap a non vtec head onto a vtec block
who told you that you have a non vtec head

As already stated, there is no D16Y8 Motor that's not VTEC. Does your head have a VTEC Solenoid or not? If it does then it is a VTEC Head (duh!) if it doesn't then chances are someone swapped a D16Y7 (None VTEC) Head on there. I dont know why someone would do that though, but people are retarded sometimes.
